Our tour begins at the time you choose (we recommend at 9:30) with a hotel pick-up in Cappadocia. First, we visit the Göreme panoramic viewpoint for an introduction to the region's history and landscape.
We visit Pigeon Valley near Uçhisar for panoramic views and pigeon houses.
We stop to learn about Cappadocia’s precious and semi-precious stones, then we explore Derinkuyu Underground City, once known as Melagobia. This 8-level city, the deepest in the region, sheltered up to 20,000 people. Your guide will explain how people used it for protection from persecution. Derinkuyu is connected to Kaymakli by an 8 km tunnel.
We then visit Nar Lake and marvel at its sparkling colours. We then visit Ihlara Gorge, where we descend 400 steps into the valley for a 4km hike along the Melendiz River. The path is lined with ancient chapels, including the well-preserved Ağaçaltı Church. Lunch is at a riverside restaurant in Belisirma village.
Afterward, we visit the quaint cobbled village of Yaprakhisar near Güzelyurt and visit the Church of Mary.
Our last stop is to taste some local delicacies and then we bring you back to your hotel, concluding the tour around 17:00.
